DAFi organizes your notes by subject and builds everything from your own course material: notes, quizzes, flashcards and revision sheets. The help you get follows your professor's content, not a generic textbook, and you always know which subject needs work.
In DAFi, subject-specific study help means help built from your own course, subject by subject. Your notes are grouped into subjects, and every quiz, flashcard and revision sheet is generated from the material of that course: your professor's lecture, your slides, your readings. You don't get a generic explanation of "biology"; you get questions about what was said in your biology class on Tuesday.
How it works
- Create your subjects. Give each course a name and pick a theme, a colored image that makes it easy to spot in your list. In the app, subjects are called "Subjects" in English and "Matières" in French.
- Add notes from your lectures. Record a class, import a PDF or slides, snap the board or paste a YouTube link (see AI note-taking). When a new note is created, DAFi suggests the subject it belongs to, so your notes land in the right place without manual sorting.
- Study inside each subject. Every note in the subject has its own summary, key takeaways, quizzes and flashcards, all based on that note's content.
- See which subjects need attention. The "Subjects to review" view shows how many items are waiting in each subject. "All notes" gives you the full list, and you can search your notes by title.
Why "specific to your course" matters
A general AI assistant knows a lot about organic chemistry in general. It doesn't know which reactions your professor emphasized, which notation your course uses or which chapter was skipped this year. When your quizzes and revision sheets are generated from your own material, you review what will actually be on your exam, in the words your course uses.
It's also why DAFi works the same way in very different fields. A law note, a philosophy lecture and a biochemistry lab are all turned into structured notes and questions from their own content.
To be transparent: DAFi doesn't include discipline-specific engines such as a math equation solver or formula rendering. Its help comes from structuring and testing your course content, whatever the subject.
Who it's for
Chloé, double major in philosophy and political science. Her readings overlap and her notes used to end up in one big pile. With a subject per course and DAFi suggesting where each new note goes, she opens "Subjects to review" on Sunday and sees that political theory has the most waiting.
Karim, pre-med student. Anatomy, physiology and biochemistry each have their own subject and color. Before each lab, he runs the quiz on that subject's latest note rather than a generic question bank.
Tips
- One subject per course, not per semester. It keeps quizzes, notes and progress readable when you have several exams in the same week.
- Check the suggested subject. DAFi's suggestion is usually right, but a quick glance keeps your subjects clean, especially for interdisciplinary courses.
- Start the week from "Subjects to review". Pick the subject with the most items waiting and plan your first session there.
- Pair it with progress tracking. Progress tracking shows which subject is slipping; the subject view shows which notes to open.
Frequently asked questions
What does "subject-specific AI study help" mean in DAFi?

Does DAFi work for any subject?
DAFi works from the content you give it: recordings, documents, photos or videos. Students use it across fields like law, sciences, humanities and health. It doesn't include a specialized math solver or formula editor.

No. DAFi suggests a subject for each new note. You can confirm or change it.
Can I search my notes?
Yes, you can search your notes by title, browse them all, or open them subject by subject.
Your courses are different. Your study help should be too. DAFi builds it from what you're actually taught.
